Welcome to Anchored and Assured!

DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH:

  • Insecurity?
  • Anxiety?
  • Fear?
  • Your identity and worth?
  • Unsure of your life’s purpose?
  • People pleasing?
  • Wanting to grow closer to Jesus?

IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO ANY OF THE ABOVE, YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

Not only are you in the right place, but you’re in good company! Every one of the above struggles described me at one time.

Intentional efforts are required to guard your heart, take your thoughts captive to Christ, and walk in step with the Holy Spirit. These are the issues covered on this site under the following categories:

  • An Anchored Heart
  • An Anchored Mind
  • An Anchored Life.

Anchored and Assured will provide content and resources from a Biblical perspective to help you:

  • Better understand who God is, and who you are in relationship to Him.
  • Learn how to overcome fear, anxiety, and insecurity.
  • Define your value and worth according to God’s Truth.
  • Understand and embrace your purpose in life.
  • Strive to please an audience of One rather than other people. (Including yourself!)
  • Grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

There are some things only God can do, and transforming a heart, mind, and life are among them!

My hope and prayer for you as you hang out in this corner of cyberspace is that you encounter Jesus Christ and leave this site a changed person as a result — for your good, and His glory!

On A Personal Note

I’ve been married to my best friend, Joe, for 28 years, and we have three sons, Matt, Chris, and Jacob. My family is my primary place of ministry, and it is the honor of my life to be a wife and mom.

Here we are celebrating our oldest son’s college graduation.

Notice the bag of leftovers in my husband’s hand? Leftovers are a precious commodity in our home. We scarcely have them, and when we do, you can count on someone having a death grip on them!

The Lord has radically transformed my heart, mind, and life through the study of Scripture. I’m nothing short of a walking miracle – in more ways than one.

Any good thing I am or have is solely by God’s grace, and all to His glory. I take zero credit for any good thing I have, am, or accomplish.

And I do mean zero credit.

God forbid I ever waver in this perspective.

I’m convinced God is able to reveal Himself to you and me in intensely personal and powerful ways every time we open His Word. This deep conviction is accompanied by genuine excitement that anticipates personal transformation as we study together.

The Lord first called me to teach His Word over 20 years ago, and I’ve been honored to author 4 Bible studies during that time, including Wholly Devoted, an In-Depth, Interactive Study on the Life of King Solomon. And Embracing an Aching Heart: Addressing the Horrors of Human Trafficking.

I’ve been honored to be a guest speaker at events and conferences, and am privileged to teach Adult Sunday School and Women’s Bible study at my home church.

My formal education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I was a stay-at-home mom for 11 years then worked part-time as a pediatric nurse.
